About Us

Hi, my name is Sarah, and I am a mom to three wonderful children. With my oldest child preparing to start kindergarten soon, the topic of school is very much on my mind these days. It occupies my thoughts constantly. It was never a consideration I actively entertained to homeschool my children, but with some of the challenges we face in the ever-evolving educational world, it soon seemed like that was my only viable option for my kids. However, homeschooling was not an option I ever envisioned myself pursuing. I don’t discredit homeschooling; I think it’s a fantastic educational outlet for many families, but it just wasn’t the right fit for me and my family’s specific needs and lifestyle. Surely, there had to have been better educational options available to us. After months of thorough research and encountering numerous dead ends, I realized I was not satisfied with the options presented to me, and it became clear that I wasn’t alone in this feeling.

So here I am getting ready to establish Duneland Children's Academy based on my belief in innovative, personalized, and nurturing education. An establishment that I know God put in my heart to start. Our school stands out for its holistic learning environment that respects each child's unique pace and interests. The curriculum blends academic rigor with social-emotional development through student-centered activities, exploration, and real-world applications, fostering critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration.

DCA also emphasizes community involvement, engaging families and local organizations & churches to help children understand their role in the community, promoting belonging and responsibility. Additionally, the academy values balanced education, supporting physical, emotional, and mental well-being with diverse extracurricular activities like arts, sports, and mindfulness.

In summary, my vision for Duneland Children's Academy prioritizes children's natural curiosity and love for learning, preparing them for academic success and lifelong growth.
